REGAN VEST is a nuclear-protected bunker located 60 meters underground in Rold Skov. It was to be a civilian place of work and residence for the Danish government, royal house, etc. in a military emergency. From here, the civilian crisis management of Denmark would take place. Areas for the plot where the bunker was to be located were purchased in 1961, and the finished bunker was taken into use in 1969. In 2012, it was removed from the emergency services. #REGANVEST #nuclearbunker #bunker

Bomb Shelter
The armory was built by the USSR with help of Germans workers, that were told they were building a communications bunker. Soviet authorities were adamant about keeping the facility top-secret, for obvious reasons. Not even the leaders of East Germany knew about the existence of the facility that was one of the biggest Soviet nuclear armories in the GDR. #Secret #Soviet #Store #Bunker #Nuclear #Warheads

The purpose of it were to house approx 15.000 soldiers (and civilians), and they kept a large amount of tanks, various missiles - including nuclear missiles, ready to launch from both mobile launching units and missile stands in the area. this is A blast valve from Regan Vest - blast valve a is used to protect a shelter, such as a fallout shelter or bunker, from the effects of sudden outside air pressure changes. A nuclear weapon creates a shock wave, which may produce sudden pressure changes of more than an atmosphere (about 1 bar or 15 pounds per square inch) even several kilometers or miles from the detonation point. After the shock wave passes, a sudden negative pressure follows. #REGANVEST #blastvalve #nuclearbunker #bunker

During the Second World War, the citizens of Hansted were removed and Europe's biggest fortress was built by the Germans in this area. Cannons were installed, that could shoot almost half the distance to Norway, in order to block allied entry into the Kattegat and thus the Baltic sea. Similar cannons were installed in Kristiansand in Norway. Thousands of bunkers were constructed in the area. #Hanstholm #fortress #Atlanticwall #Atlantikwall #bunker #bunkers
