I brought a body and the great Tokina 11-16mm with me on a trip to London (and to the incredible St Pancras Hotel where I stayed one night), but no tripod... I did figure out that I could use the elaborate wrought iron staircases as a stabilizer/tripod, as well as floors and stairs... For those of you who don't know, this is the helical staircase inside London's City Hall on the Southbank of the River Thames. Public access was granted as it was part of the Open House London weekend, it's a rather smashing day out if you can put up with all the queuing and the masses of people. I think next time I am going to scout out the smaller, less popular locations as I reckon there is a minefield of original material waiting to be shot. Hoping to get out soon and shoot something…
