There are a number of medical reasons why you may need to be induced for labor. These can include: → Your water has broken but labor has not started → Your baby is not growing properly and you are past your due date → There is a risk of infection for mother or baby → You have high blood pressure, pre-eclampsia, or gestational hypertension → Your baby is in distress → The placenta fails to function properly (follow the link for full post description!)

So how do you get through it? → Perinatal support such as a warm compress → Breathe through it using breathing techniques for birth → Keep your mouth soft and open as this has a direct impact on your pelvic floor → Avoid trying to push through it → Don’t hold your breath → Give birth in water → When baby is starting to get close, positon yourself in a birth positon that has less pressure on your perineum such as on all fours or kneeling.

Today we are breaking down getting induced. We talk about medical and elective induction. You have a choice mama. You do not have to be induced if there is not medical indication. Being past due is not legit unless there is something else going on that makes out safer than in. I am all about you making choices for your plan of care. Do not make emotional choices. Ask for time to think, and unless there is an emergent reason, this is reasonable. Induction, Legit, Choices, Medical, Talk, Medicine, Med School, Active Ingredient
