We’re huge adherents of Leif Podhajsky and in particular his design and art direction for the music industry. The LP came along in a thick cardboard folder, screenprinted, handnumbered, on recycled or golden paper and 180gr vinyl, black/red marbled. 7 minutes, 10 songs, one sided! Fukk yeah! Printed at the Dekor Labor and self cutted with a cutter knife. Never again, but still fun to do it. Released through Spastic Fantastic…
The concept behind this design was based on the meaning of the album. References to the sky and the religious tones in the content lead the illustration of the design and the album’s structure.
I want to keep my packaging simple, including the artwork. I think I will use some of the artwork from the animation, including the type. I like the idea of using cut-outs, maybe to reveal elements of the artwork, and colour.... also I have never used the vinyl cutter which I would very much like to try out....
