Fender Electric Mandolin/ Champion 600 Amp  © JONATHAN SINGER, 2010  Fender Electric Mandolin, sn01100, 1958, nicknamed the Mandocaster was introduced in 1956 along with the student models Duo-Sonic and the Musicmaster. Fender eschewed the traditional eight strings for four which was quite enough string when amplified - it’s akin to high-strung Telecaster. These were in production until the mid-‘70s.  Fender Champion 600 Amp, c 1949.
