Artist Elizabeth Colomba engages history from the perspective of black women
Artist Elizabeth Colomba is Martiniquan by blood, French by birth, and a New Yorker by heart. She was born and raised in France to parents of Martiniquan descent. “At home, we were in the Caribbean. But, as soon as we left the walls of our house, we were in France,” says Colomba. Today she makes her home in New York City. Her hybrid identity is reflected in her artistic corpus.
