Prohibition: Women like this would come together because they were against alcohol and drinking. They would make up mottos like "Lips that touch liquor shall not touch ours", stating that they will have no interest in anybody who drinks.
The movement surfaced the need for religion in America. The Temperance Movement was basically a ban against the addiction of alcohol, Christians addiction to be a sin. The Temperance Movement coincided with the Second Great Awakening because its followers dropped alcohol and found God. The Woman's Christian Temperance Union was a huge advocate for ban of alcohol, and the recovery from it with religion. This was another way that the Temperance Movement improved the morality of America.
