Cecilia Carlstedt - Visual Poetry - (Week 5 - Eduardo) - Stockholm - 2001?. Collage, Ink, Pencil, Gouche, Watercolour. I like the collaboration of different mediums in this illustration. The silhouette is effectively portrayed through the use of line. This simple outline exudes the mood through pose. The toned back ground also creates a great effect and it would look very different on white paper. The variation in line creates different areas of focal points and allows a break to the viewer.

Richard Bernstein - Interview Magazine cover - (Week 4 - Eduardo) - December 1986 - Bronx, NY. Coloured Pencils, Pastels. The bold use of colours creates a very interesting and eye capturing illustration. This also plays to the stylisation created. The minimal use of shading creates the face contours well. The layers of application work well especially in the eyebrow.

Jean-Philippe Delhomme - Lacoste - (Week 3 - Eduardo) - Paris - 2012. Gouache. The is a sense of relaxed straight lines as they show variation. The refinement contributes to the stylisation of the illustration. The background is simple and helps create a story, the obscure placement forms the overall aesthetic. I like the use of darker skin colour to define the anatomy. The refined face still shows expression.

Montse Bernal - Untitled #3 - (Week 1 - Eduardo) - Barcelona - 2012. Graphite, Colour Pencils, collage, embroidery. The graphite shows a great use of tonal sketching. The use of white is effective in defining different elements. Also great joining of different mediums.

Stina Persson - Unititled - (Week 2 - Eduardo) - Lund (lives in Stockholm) - 2009. Watercolour. The blends of colours work very well. The use of masking fluid (or digital) contributes to the stylisation. The balance of negative space is very important in the execution of the illustration.

Cedric Rivrain - Sasha Pivovarova in Prada for Doing Bird - (Week 4 - Eduardo) - Paris - 2012?. Coloured Pencils. The layers of detailing are effective in portraying the textiles and drape of fabric. The use of a more subdued skin tone contributes to the stylisation of the illustration. I like how the arms fade into the background and this give the illustration a more refined aesthetic.

Francois Berthoud - Pour toi - Jean Paul Gaultier - (Week 5 - Eduardo) - Switzerland - 1986. Print, ink. The combination of different textures are effective. I like the graphic lines forming the silhouette. The highlights on the boots are important in defining shape. The pose, graphic shadows on the face and the movement in the hair help form the stylisation of the illustration.

Cedric Rivrain - Lanvin - (Week 4 - Eduardo) - Paris - 2012?. Coloured Pencils. I like the use of white on the tonal paper as this gives a striking highlight. It is effective keep the skin grayscale and adding colour to the garment. I also like the use of variation in shading of the pink. The fade out allows the eye to fill in the rest of the image. I like the concept of not complete looking complete.

Wendy Plovmand - Elle Girl - (Week 5 - Eduardo) - December 1986 - Copenhagen (also works from London). Watercolour, Ink, Collage, Digital. I like the combination of mediums to create different cohesive textures. The thoughtful layering is interesting and portrays the stylisation. There is a great use of negative space as the flesh. This gives a balance to the busy graphics. The differing mediums also help define various elements of the illustration (ie background and garment).
