I have done my fair share of traveling in my short 24 years. I would like to say that I am no stranger to airports and flying. So, I know how important it is to have an outfit that is not only comfortable but fashionable while you are flying. photo via Maybe I am weird or whatever, but I don’t think that sweats should ever be worn out of the house and an airport is no exception to that rule. Now, if you are taking the red-eye and getting to your destination before 9am, it’s acceptable to be caught in sweats or maybe flying for 18+ hours. But, if you are not, then you should probably wear something that is more “daytime” appropriate. At least that is my opinion on wardrobe options. Don't hate me if you think otherwise, this is just my personal opinion. I think that for an airport outfit to be "perfect" it needs to fit the following categories: Comfortable Who in their right mind wants to be uncomfortable more than they have to on a plane for hours at a time. Light Weight It could be a million degrees or freezing cold depending on where you go, plus if you get hot you don’t want to lug around a heavy jacket. Functionable Who wants to spend 20 minutes putting on shoes or attempting to run through an airport in a pair of high heels. Sure, if you have a 4 hour layover and only one connection, maybe heels are an option for you. Large Now I am talking about your personal carry on item, because I know you are going to take a million and one things to keep yourself occupied during that layover. At least I do. You need a large enough purse/satchel to carry them in that is functionable as a purse when you arrive at your destination. When your travel outfit fits into all of the above categories, you (at least I) feel so much more relaxed and comfortable when I fly. It makes your time in the air and on the ground, so much more pleasant. And, if you are like me, you make sure that your outfit is just as good in the airport as when you walk out the doors to your destination. Because, I know I don’t want to have to worry about spending even more time in the hotel room getting ready once I am on vacation. What are your ideas of the perfect travel outfit?
