Look, everyone has bad days, everyone has their own struggles, and there are moments when everyone thinks of giving up. But also, everyone deserves a nudge in the right direction, some advice and wisdom, and some encouragement.

National Geographic has become synonymous with the best photography, with the magazine always showcasing the outstanding beauty and wonder of our planet. So naturally, their annual photo contest is a prestigious and hotly-contested event, with judges having thousands of breathtaking images to narrow down, to find the eventual winners.

I got into this industry because of the power a single image could hold. Powerful images can cause us to evoke emotion, to feel, and empathize with the subject matter as we relate it to our own lives.
