Love this chevron pattern. While playing with patterns I decided to do a chevron pattern weave. This is very similar to a twill except after a few rows you reverse the pattern evenly so that an arrow type shape is created. Weaving Techniques || The Chevron Weave | The Weaving Loom

While playing with patterns I decided to do a chevron pattern weave. This is very similar to a twill except after a few rows you reverse the pattern evenly so that an arrow type shape is created. **UPDATE** I just made a video on how to weave the chevron pattern, so check it out! To make my chevron pattern I passed the weft thread over two warp threads and then under two warp threads, repeating this pattern across the weave (Confused over the weaving terms? See this post here). I did this…

Best of Weaving Techniques || Double Diamond Pattern | The Weaving Loom

As we approach the end of the year, I can’t help but look back. Not only has this blog grown a lot, thanks to all of you. But we’ve also covered a lot of fun weaving techniques, some that you might have even missed. So for these last two weeks I’m going to cover the favorite techniques from the blog. To start, I had to talk about the double diamond pattern. This one I hear about all the time. It is such a pretty weave pattern, but it’s also one of the harder patterns. But don’t let the fact…

Weaving Techniques || Binding Off a Weave | The Weaving Loom

A little bit ago, I received a question from a reader who had woven all the way down to the bottom of her loom. Her weave was finished and ready to take off the loom, but now she realized she didn’t have much warp thread left to finish the weave. She asked if she had to un-weave the bottom to make the warp threads long enough for her to finish the weave. Luckily the answer was no! Because who wants to un-weave some of their work, unless they really have to. Since she had used a peg loom for…

Italian Hemstitch

I love little tricks in weaving, especially if they help me to avoid tying knots for fringe. I don’t know, but I would much rather take the time weaving in ends and perfecting the surface of the cloth, not tying knots. The Italian Hemstitch is one of the solutions that I have learned to create a beautiful hem without worrying about the fabric unravelling and also avoiding tying knots. Here is how to do it! Before you start you want to figure out what kind of shape you would like the final…
