Aldworth House, Haslemere, Surrey, final home of Alfred and Emily Tennyson, painted by Helen Allingham during her visit one year before Tennyson's death in 1892. Helen Mary Elizabeth Paterson Allingham (1848-1926) was an English watercolour painter and illustrator. Aldworth House was designed as an escape for Tennyson during the summer months, away from tourists which surrounded his home on the Isle of Wight.
