***Scroll down to the post below to see my card for this week's Color Throwdown.*** Here’s my card for this week’s SCS sketch challenge. I have to admit that when I first saw the sketch, I saw the three square elements as snowflakes, but I decided to think a little longer and it wasn't too long before this idea came to me. It came together quickly using Papertrey Ink’s Sweet Baby set and the coordinating set of dies. I die cut the giraffe from white paper, then stamped the matching image in…

Fox & Friends Baby Card
I needed to make a quick baby card and still had all the leftover paper from my bunny basket sitting on my desk, so here's what I came up with. I think it turned out pretty cute for being in a hurry :) The giraffe is from the Fox &...
Made for a friend
The gauze is a piece of a 6 layer dishcloth from the two dollar shop.(A tip given to me many years ago) It's stiff until it is wet, then it becomes a limp dish cloth. I frayed the edges, colored it with chalk ink and glued it in place. I had a light bulb moment when I had inked an acrylic block to stamp the soft background squares on my 'A Quirky Flower' card. (technique from this blog dostamping.typepad.com/dostamping_with_dawn/2010/10/frenc... via Jacqueline's beautiful card…
Rocky's Thanks by yellowrose46 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I gave this baby card to my DD, and she just loved it and ordered 20 of them as thank yo cards for baby gifts at her shower. I used up odds and ends of paper from my stash. For the rest of my cards, I did not use a button for the wheels, but a little circle of paper and used silver stickles. This was to make the cards thinner so they could be sent by mail.

Congrats to Kharmagirl, today's SCS featured stamper. I love her style! My card is a CASE of this card of Jodi's. I kept almost everything: colors, layout (which was from a sketch challenge by Holly McMillen, aka Toy on SCS), background stamp, white gel pen dots, blue gingham, buttons. My only changes were to make the the card square, leave out some brads, add some stitching, and change the stamp set. My main image was stamped in white craft ink, embossed with white embossing powder, then…
SC476 - Butterfly Baby by sistersandie - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
I love this free paper from Cardmaking magazine and thought the printing was so delicate it would be ideal for a baby card. I used the pink portion of the paper for the second border, the circle, flag and little butterfly.

So Many Hearts!
The Love Notes Framelits Dies are amazing! I seriously had no idea about these dies until I started using them. There are 14 dies in the set! Today's card shows lot of items cut with these dies ~ the two striped hearts, the red arrow, the tiny envelope, the tiny note inside the envelope (I mean, how cute!), and the line of hearts cutting across the paper. Wow!! Now I do want to say that I cased the basic design of this card from Linda Bedinger. She has a fabulous video tutorial on how to cut…

This card was a lot easier to make using the Everyday Elegance Kit by SU. The die cut label works perfectly with the stamp phrase.
