Here's a practice hack for you...Print your word or phrase on copy paper and practice your layout design with this instead of wasting expensive watercolor paper. I'll practice like this multiple times until I'm happy with my design. THEN I'll get out my watercolor paper, paint or stencil in my letters and paint my flowers. And hopefully it will turn out like I practiced!
Just one of many designs you'll create in the Winter Wedge Wonderland class. It's a LIVE Zoom class on Oct 19, 22, 26, and 29. 2 hours each day with Q&A after each lesson. Can't join LIVE? Florals made with the Beste Fountain Wedge brush! Layering colors makes this piece pop.... The vintage color of dusty rose paired with a deep green is a favorite. I used Daniel Smith Naphthamide Maroon (muted with some Dr Ph Martin's bleedproof white) and Winsor & Newton Perylene green (also muted with Bleedproof white). Stonehenge Legion Kraft paper was used. A DIY project that can be used for just about anything!
My favorite way to paint flowers is with a Beste Fountain wedge brush by Creative Mark. Because of it's wedge shape, it gives the best strokes for both florals and leaves. You can create loose florals or a tighter botanical look with this brush too. I used a black "wink of stella" brusha and a Signo Uni-ball pen for the floral centers. A fabulous gift, diy or project for your home!

Simple watercolor florals with a Beste Fountain wedge brush are delicate and exquisite. This brush makes it so easy to paint flowers! I used Dr Ph Martin's bleedproof white and a little watercolor for this floral stem. This could be framed, added to a card or envelope, used as an invitation, or so many other possibilities. A fun version of a holly berry stem in watercolor using Dr Ph Martins Bleedproof white, a wedge brush by Beste Fountain, and a little crimson watercolor for the berries. Canson XL black drawing paper was used as well. Try this for a unique Christmas DIY!

An easy topiary tree using a Marseille Fitch scrumbler brush by Artist's Loft. Walnut ink is used, with a calligraphy pen, to fill in the pot and add some highlights. A damp clean paint brush does the trick for that! Make this to frame, for a card, use as a name card, or anything else you want!
Simple, one-stroke technique to make these delicate flowers and leaves, with a wedge brush. Brush is a Beste Fountain brush, by Creative Mark. The ends of the brush are a little frayed but I love that because it ends up making such beautiful marks on the edges of the petals! I highlight the flowers with a black Micron pen and a Sakura white gelly roll pen. Make this simple design for home decor, a card, or add it to your journal pages!
