Thanks for Everything–CTD #362
Hey, there! It’s time for another Color Throwdown Challenge! Vickie has these wonderful Fall colors for us to work with this week and I’m loving them! My card started with a Kraft card stock base. I cut some Primitive White card stock with Blueprints 20 Die-namics and spread some embossing paste through English Brick Wall Stencil, stamped the sentiments, from LJD Fall Foliage with Chocolate Brown dye ink, and popped it up on foam mounting tape on the base. Next I cut Falling Leaves…

The Paper Players 362 - DT card
This week at The Paper Players, LeAnne has a CAS theme challenge to get our creative juices flowing. Harvest time is autumn and also a time of taking stock and giving thanks, so that's the thinking behind my card. I was also keen to try out a new technique that I'd seen on Stampin' Artfully, the blog of the very talented Kim Jolley, about a different way to approach shaving foam backgrounds. I was very happy with the background, made using Crushed Curry and Fresh Fig ink. We would love to…

Colorful Seasons/Seasonal Layers Thanksgiving Card
I just loved making this Thanksgiving card. It's a bit labor intensive, but so well worth the effort! The background was made by inking up the Woodlands embossing folder before running a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock through the Big Shot. The leaves were made by die cuting a solid leaf and a detailed leaf from the Seasonal Layers die in each of Mango Melody, Crushed Curry, and Cajun Craze. The Seasonal Layers dies coordinate with the Colorful Seasons stamp set. The outside sentiment was…
Wood Textures Designer Series Paper
I cased a card from Stampin' Up! using the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper, my card is not an actual match as I changed the decoration. I love the layout of this card and the great use of the patterned paper. This got me thinking about what other cards could be made with this paper pack. This is what I came up with (it took me a week as I used the entire paper pack and made 69 cards). There are 17 designs plus the one that I cased. I only have a small pile of scraps left, which if I…
The Card Concept Challenge #79
Welcome to another Card Concept Challenge! I was totally inspired by the luscious cream and silver colors in this Inspiration photo! I wanted to try a technique that I recently saw on a Jennifer McGuire - Creative Partial Die Cutting video to make my card. I followed the instructions by Jennifer McGuire and die cut a leaf shape on my card about 2/3 down from the top of the card. Next, I used Versamark ink and stamped some beautiful leaves and heat embossed them with Nuvo Silver Moonlight…
Blessings
Today's card is a variation of one I made last year - I like these elements together. This year I added some metallics to the mix. supplies: ivory and Tim Holtz Rose Gold Metallic Kraft cardstock, plank dp from Craft Consortium Wood Textures pad, Simon Stitched Grand Maple and part of Christmas Blessings dies, Fun Stampers Journey Changing Seasons embossing folder, rose gold sequins, adhesive foam to lift top panel When I got this new plank pad of paper, I wondered whether I'd ever use this…
