A really cool look to this high quality cab of crazy lace agate. Mostly silvers and greys with highlights of color here and there. An eye catcher for sure. It measures approx. 43 x 27.5 x 5.7mm with a nice glassy finish, a matt back and a low dome. (Note: The line across the bottom is a healed fracture from when the rock was still forming. Its just part of the natural design now). Thanks for dropping by
Detroit agate/ aka Fordite is old car paint, hardened, cut & polished; formed from the build up of layers of enamel paint slag on skids on which cars were hand-painted, which have been baked numerous times.
Quartz crystal/agate cylinder / There are two main groups of quartz: chert and chalcedony. Agates form in cavities left by gas bubbles in cooling lava. Silica-rich groundwater builds layers of crystals on the cavity walls.
