After 32 years the product that changed the face of music industry - the Cassette playing walkman of Sony , is being discontinued.

Small high-speed desktop cassette duplicators like this Telex Copyette 1 & 3 duplicated from a master cassette tape onto three blank cassettes simultaneously. They were popular with small studios, churches, schools and businesses. Most were monaural like this one, but a few were stereo. Frequency response was only 50 - 10,000 Hz and signal-to-noise ratio was only -45 dB or -50 dB, so they were more suited to spoken word tapes and not music. I still have a Wollensak unit similar to this one.

Sony WM-D6C Professional recording Walkman - I invested in one of these when I used to be flying all over the place for work - great sound and build quality, but it did weigh about 50lbs and ate 4 AAs every few hours..HOWEVER, the haptic design was superb, with every minor adjustment, smooth and every switch selection solid and dependable - I sold it to a friend about 15 years ago, who informs me that it's still working and in use everyday....K

Personally owned one of these at some point, simply amazing in a size that barely exceeded the Cassette's casing size.
