Whether or not your child is taking ADHD medication, you may wonder what else might help reduce symptoms. Medication remains the most effective treatment for roughly 80 percent of kids with ADHD. Behavior therapy can also be helpful. But there are alternative treatments you can try in addition to or instead of medication or behavior therapy.
This activity is a fun warm up to help children work on impulse control and flexibility. I made visuals for the night/day activity from Brain Rules as well as created a summer/winter version. Page 3 includes a visual reminder to use to help students remember to think about their answer before blurting a word out, which helps improve their performance.
