Grand Staircase - Paronella Park
Day 4 of our holiday, at Paronella park - Innisfail. Voted in the top (maybe even number 1) of things to see in QLD. Shortly after entering the park you descend these stairs, very steep, but definitely worth it. Everything is so green and mossy and the abundance of moss/algae/fungi had me impressed.
Paronella Park Kauri Trees
There were over 7000 trees and shrubs planted at Paronella Park. The Kauri trees are huge monuments to the vision that José wove into the landscape.

In 1946 a huge flood damaged the lower refreshment rooms. José Paronella died of cancer in 1948. His wife and son continued on with the Paronella Park dream until Margarita died in 1967 and son Joe died in 1972.
