There are so many nice features to this one. Grace pulled a lot of fun details off the stamps. In some ways, that orange rectangle looks like it might be covering up a mistake -- but it is such a nice chunk of color. It livens up the composition. It seems like I can never find the right size envelope when I make my own cards. This a fun way to solve the problem. I raided the recycling bin for some newspapers. I bought a We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board with a coupon from Michaels. Using newspapers to practice was a good idea. It did take a couple attempts to get it right and newspaper mistakes were pain free...I think I would have been sad if I had wasted pretty papers. My favorites were the comic envelopes. T…

this is the first one of a series of 15 i did for ellen. i will lump them together because some of them aren't that good. i needed to do 15 in an hour, which i was able to do. as far as new ideas, i use dots all the time. on this one, i liked how the dots don't stay in the lines. that looks rather new, to me. maybe it isn't. i always loved this series of santas because of the non-traditional colors.
